MAEA AWARDS

MAEA ART EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR AWARDS
The Missouri Art Education Association is seeking nominations to honor outstanding art educators in the following areas: Missouri Art Educator of the Year, K-12, Elementary, Middle School/Junior High, Secondary, Higher Education, Supervision and Administration, Museum Education, Retired Art Educator, and the Kantner Art Education Research Award. An Appreciation Award, open to any person or organization that has demonstrated significant support of art education, is also available.

Key criteria for the award include commitment, MAEA activities involvement, including honors and service, leadership roles and accomplishments, professional organizational memberships including offices held and honors, publications and/or exhibits, and outstanding teaching related contributions and services.

Completed Nomination packets will be reviewed by a selection committee, which will select the award recipient based on the nomination form, the nominee's response to the standardized vita, and the required letters of support. The winners will be recognized at the MAEA Spring Conference.

Nomination packets must be postmarked by November 1.

Use the Nomination Form to nominate your candidate.

(The form must be typed, Nomination form in Word or use the online form).

Include a typed cover letter supporting your nomination.

(this form must be typed and is available as a document template for your convenience.)

*An award winner in a division cannot be nominated for the award in that same division within ten years of winning the previous award.

(intended to recognize elected officials who have worked to improve the
state of the arts and art education in the State of Missouri).
